SEE HOW YOUR DONATIONS HELP CHILDREN, ADULTS, PARKS, ANIMALS, PLANTS...

MAPA has submitted a proposal to operate Russian Gulch State Park to assist Parks in keeping it open to the public. If Parks accepts MAPA's proposal, we hope to start readying Russian Gulch for the camping season by early 2012.

MAPA's goal is to have the park self-sustaining within two years, however -

Start-up Donation funds are crucial to this endeavor, as well as Volunteers.  Please help.

Please contact MAPA at mapa@mendoparks.org, or 707.937.4700.

Your donations help MAPA provide programs for 5000 school children each year who attend our parks on school field trips to study tidepools, marine mammals, birds and plants.
Your donations help support exhibits and displays in six visitor centers in our local state parks.
Your donations help fund Living History school field trips to the Ford House Museum where children make biscuits from scratch, crank ice-cream, make butter from cream, create corn-husk dolls, wash clothes in a metal tub with a scrubbing board and then hang them to air-dry, and play pioneer games.

Your donations help fund campfire programs like this one with Mr. Abalone doing an educational program on the Red Abalone that inhabit our coastal ecosystems.

Your donations also help with Jr. Rangers and other nature programs in several state parks.

Your donations help fund special events like the Whale Festival at MacKerricher.
Your donations help fund Docent nature talks and seminars
Your donations help fund our Seal Pup Watch volunteers who oversee the seal rookeries during seal-pupping season to protect the new-borns from well-intentioned adults and curious dogs-off-leash.

Your donations help pay for interpretive panels and water safey signs in our parks
