MacKerricher State Park is on the ocean front three miles north of Fort Bragg. The park includes low ocean bluffs, extensive tidepools, miles of beaches, and the Haul Road, a paved walking and biking trail from the north edge of Fort Bragg along the coast through the Park. The reconstructed Pudding Creek Trestle connects hikers/bikers from Glass Beach Drive, Fort Bragg, along the Haul Road into the main part of the park.

MacKerricher is open year-round and has 140 campsites, plus a Visitor Center which has many exhibits. |
| The skeleton of a California Grey Whale is on display next to the Visitor Center. |

 |
The park is free for day use and popular for many outdoor activities, including birding, tidepooling, fishing, walking, biking, and boating on Cleone Lake. |
| Harbor Seals and other marine mammals live in the ocean off shore, as do a wide variety of coastal and migrating birds. |
